Reasonable selection and proper installation of sulfuric acid flowmeters are extremely important for improving the measurement accuracy and prolonging the service life of the instrument.

1. Selection principle of sulfuric acid flowmeter

Sulfuric acid flowmeter includes the transmitter and the converter in two parts. The main problem of its selection is how to correctly select the transmitter. The converter only needs to be used together with it. The selection of the transmitter should be considered from the following aspects.

(1) Selection of caliber and range When selecting the transmitter, it is necessary to first determine its caliber and flow measurement range, or to determine the flow rate range of the fluid in the measuring tube of the transmitter. The full-scale scale of the transmitter is selected according to the maximum flow rate expected in the production process, and the commonly used flow rate of the transmitter in use preferably exceeds 50% of the full-scale, in order to obtain a higher measurement accuracy, the transmitter range After the determination, the caliber is determined based on the relationship between the fluid velocity in the measuring tube and the head loss. The flow rate is 2-4 m/s. The caliber of the transmitter is usually chosen to be the same as or slightly smaller than the diameter of the pipe. (2) Selection of working pressure The pressure at which the transmitter is used must be lower than the specified working pressure. At present, the working pressure specifications of the transmitter are: 157×10`Pa less than ф50mm; 980×1O`Pa when ф80-900mm; 58.9×10`Pa when larger than ф1000mm;
(3) Selection of temperature The temperature of the measured medium must not exceed the permissible temperature of the lining material of the transmitter. The temperature of the medium is also limited by the temperature resistance of the electric insulation material and enameled wire. Domestic stereotypes transmitters usually operate at a temperature of 5 to 60°C, and some can reach 120°C. To measure high temperature media, special specification transmitters are required;
(4) Selection of lining material and electrode material The lining material and electrode material of the transmitter must be correctly selected according to the physical and chemical properties of the measured medium, otherwise the transmitter will be damaged quickly due to the corrosion of the lining and the electrode. Therefore, the electrode and lining material of the transmitter must be correctly selected according to the anti-corrosion experience of the specific measuring medium during the production process.

2. Installation of sulfuric acid flowmeter

Install the transmitter away from magnetic sources (such as high-power motors, large transformers, etc.) and do not vibrate. It is best to install vertically, and the flow direction of the medium should be from bottom to top, so as to ensure that the measuring tube of the transmitter is always full of medium. When it cannot be installed vertically, it can also be installed horizontally, but the two electrodes should be on the same level to prevent the electrode from being contaminated by precipitation and adsorbed by air bubbles. When installed horizontally, the elevation of the transmitter mounting position should be slightly lower than the height of the pipeline to ensure that the transmitter measuring tube is filled with media.

In addition, the transmitter should be installed in a dry and ventilated place. Avoid rain, direct sunlight and high ambient temperature. The converter shall be installed in an environment with an ambient temperature of -10°C to +45°C. The relative humidity of the air shall be ≤85%. There shall be no strong vibration at the installation site, and the surrounding gas phase shall not contain corrosive gases. The length of the connecting cable between the transmitter and the transmitter should not exceed 30m.

3. Use of sulfuric acid flowmeter

In the process of using the sulfuric acid flowmeter, the inner wall of the measuring tube may be fouled, and the resistance of the scale layer is low. In severe cases, the electrode may be short-circuited, and the flow signal may become smaller or smaller. In addition, the lining of the measuring tube may also be corroded or worn, resulting in short-circuiting of the electrodes, causing serious measurement errors, and even the instrument cannot continue to work. Therefore, regular maintenance must be performed in the transmitter to keep the inside of the measuring tube clean and the electrodes bright.
