As of June 29, Shandong Jinyu Tire Co., Ltd. used CNPC dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber and adopted the key technologies developed by the Petrochemical Research Institute, accumulatively producing more than 2 million green tires, and opened the market for China's oil-soluble styrene-butadiene rubber.

The successful development of this technology satisfies the tire industry's demand for green tire manufacturing processes and enhances China National Petroleum's technological level and competitiveness in the field of synthetic rubber R&D.

The increasingly stringent environmental regulations and the development of the automobile industry have led to a change in the structure of the world's tire products. The use of solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber to produce more comfortable, safe and energy-saving green tires is the choice of world-renowned tire companies. However, there is a lack of manufacturing and processing technologies for domestic styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBR), and users have insufficient understanding of the product's performance advantages, which results in greater difficulties in the sales of SBR.

To break through the technical bottleneck of the application of SBR in tires as soon as possible, and to break the sales dilemma faced by China Petroleum SBR, the “Application of SBR in High Performance Meridian Tires” project team from the Based on the study of structural analysis and processing applications of benzene rubber, thousands of batches of data were obtained after hundreds of experiments, and the process and formula for the manufacture of tires by solution polymerization of styrene-butadiene rubber was determined.

The project team has in-depth tire companies, tracking the entire process of tire production, comprehensive analysis of the various problems in the application of dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber in tire applications. Members of the project team worked continuously for more than six months in the production plant to develop low-temperature mixing technology suitable for China Petroleum dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber, carbon black and black carbon black two-phase reinforcement technology, and SSBR/BR/SBR combined technology and process. The project team focused on the various technical problems in the trial production of green butadiene-styrene rubber in green tires, carried out a large number of processes and formula optimization experiments, and mastered the key technologies.

To prepare for the commencement of Dushanzi Petrochemical solution of styrene-butadiene rubber, North China Chemical Sales Company visited the tire manufacturing enterprise in North China. In March 2011, after Dushanzi Petrochemical continuously produced dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber, in order to obtain actual processing and application data for products, North China Chemical Sales cooperated with Dushanzi Petrochemical and Petrochemical Research Institute and jointly with Qingdao University of Science and Technology, selecting Shandong Jinyu with stronger strength. After the solvent-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber entered the market, North China Chemical Sales Company optimized the product structure according to the model developed and gradually promoted by typical users, and achieved an orderly sales of styrene-butadiene rubber. In 2011, the sales of dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber reached 2,036 tons. At present, the monthly sales volume of dissolved styrene-butadiene rubber has increased to more than 400 tons.
