Dow Chemical will team up with Saudi Arabian National Oil to build an 8-megatity RTTP large-scale petrochemical project, which may be fully operational in 2015.
At present, the cost of this project exceeds 20 billion U.S. dollars. After completion, it is expected to become one of the largest chemical and plastic projects in the world. Composed of 35 production plants, each of which can be considered a key project, will produce approximately 8 million tons of petrochemical products each year. Products include ethylene and polyethylene plastics, chlor-alkali and caustic soda, propylene oxide and propylene glycol, vinyl chloride, epoxy, polyurethane, polycarbonate, and other basic chemicals and plastics.
