Recently, in order to promote the comprehensive utilization of red mud and vigorously develop the circular economy, the Aluminum Research Institute of Shandong Branch of China Aluminum Corporation has developed an effective and feasible red mud and alkali elimination method.
It is reported that this method can not only reduce the alkali content in the red mud, recover the combined alkali in it to reduce the alkali consumption of alumina production, but also make the dealkalized red mud become an inorganic raw material with stable physical and chemical properties and a wider range of uses. Mud utilization, reducing the amount of effluent red mud and its environmental pollution, reducing the investment in red mud control, and ultimately reducing alumina production costs.
