Recently, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. From April 8, 2016, some imported mini-series cars will be recalled. The production date is from June 12, 2015 to 2015. On the 19th. Some vehicles in this recall range have defects in the fuel pump control unit due to design reasons. Under certain conditions, the internal electronic components of the fuel pump control unit may break down when the vehicle enters the sleep state or wakes up from the sleep state. The fuel pump therefore does not work properly and the engine will not be able to get fuel. When the defect occurs, the vehicle will not start; or under certain conditions, the residual fuel in the fuel supply line may cause the engine to run for a short time, and then the engine will be turned off. The above situation increases the possibility of traffic accidents in vehicles and poses a safety hazard.
The Guangdong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau discovered the safety hazard during the port inspection, implemented the risk disposal measures in a timely manner, and quickly carried out the defect vehicle investigation, triggering this recall.
BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the fuel pump control unit for vehicles within the recall range to eliminate defects.
