On August 6, at the signing ceremony for the Ningxia and Beijing Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference and Project signing ceremony in Beijing, Li Rui, Vice Chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region stated that the development and expansion of energy and chemical industries is the strategic focus of Ningxia’s “12th Five-Year Plan†period. At present, the key areas for investment promotion in Ningxia are to promote the rapid economic development of Ningxia through the enlargement and strengthening of Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base.
Wang Jing, director of the Ningxia Investment Promotion Bureau, said that at present, the investment promotion work in Ningxia Energy and Chemical Industry has progressed smoothly. By the end of the first half of the year, the Ningdong General Assembly had completed a total investment of 14.09 billion yuan, and 11 of the 16 battle headquarters had completed or exceeded the plan.
New energy projects have become the highlights of this project signing ceremony. Of the 11 contracted projects, 3 are in the field of new energy, including the 10 megawatt photovoltaic power generation project of Qingtongxia People's Government and Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. The total investment is 300 million yuan; the 30 megawatt solar photovoltaic project of Zhongwei City People's Government and China Enfi Engineering Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 560 million yuan; the Pingluo County People's Government and Beijing Wante Energy Investment Co., Ltd. Biomass power generation and sewage treatment plant construction projects, a total investment of 430 million yuan.
Li Rui stated that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, Ningxia will continue to advance the construction of Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, highlighting the role of energy and chemical industry in economic growth, and using energy, chemicals, new materials, equipment manufacturing, and agricultural products processing industry with superior characteristics as breakthroughs. We will vigorously implement the strategy of strengthening industrial zones, develop inland open economy, and create a cluster of modern western industries.
It is understood that the detachments formed by cities, counties (districts) of Ningxia City in the past have docked and negotiated projects in the Bohai Rim area, and have contributed to a number of projects with cooperation intentions. Next, Ningxia will continue to carry out large-scale investment promotion activities in the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Northeast.
