· GM's global recall of nearly 4.3 million airbags has caused one death

According to Reuters, GM will recall nearly 4.3 million vehicles worldwide. The recall is due to a fault in the car software, which may cause the airbag to fail to bounce in the event of a crash. It has caused three deaths and three injuries.

This is the latest recall in recent years due to airbag problems. The number of cars recalled due to problems with Takada airbags has broken records, and this year it has been involved in two airbag suppliers, and millions of cars are under investigation.

GM said the recall will recall some of the 2014 to 2017 models of trucks, cars and SUVs, including Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD and Cadillac Escalade.

A spokesperson for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) hopes to eliminate concerns about airbag hazards. According to the agency's survey, the front seat airbag saved 2,400 lives in the United States in 2014. NHTSA issued a notice on September 9th stating that the airbag system may initiate a diagnostic test under certain circumstances to prevent the airbag from popping up in the event of an accident. General said that the software will have problems in "very few cases."

As soon as the news came out, the price of GM shares fell by 1.18 US dollars (about 7.88 yuan), and the current price was 30.53 US dollars (about 203.87 yuan), a decrease of 3.7%. The company said that the recall will not have a real impact on financial results.

Delphi Automotive said it supplied sensors and components to the airbags, but these parts met common product specifications and verification standards and were not the culprit. The company believes that the cost of this recall will not affect its financial situation. Affected by this news, Delphi shares fell by 3.6 US dollars (about 24 yuan) to 68.1 US dollars (about 454.7 yuan).

GM said it received an incident report in May that showed that the front airbag and pre-tensioned seat belt on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado could not be used properly during a crash. GM conducted an investigation into the matter in June and conducted a road test in August before deciding to recall. The company said its dealers will update the car software to avoid the use of airbags and seat belts.
