Recently, Wärtsilä has received orders for generator sets of CSCL container ships to supply Wärtsilä Auxpac 32 generator sets for its eight 13500TEU container ships. Four Wärtsilä generator sets are required for each container ship, for a total of 32 sets. The order was signed in March 2016 with Wärtsilä's joint venture, China Shipbuilding Wärtsilä Engines (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (CWEC), and eight container ships are currently under construction by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd.
It is reported that the total output of the Wärtsilä generator set covered by this order will exceed 100 MW. At the same time, the delivery to the shipyard will begin in the first half of 2017.
