Masteel ultra-wide cold-rolled galvanized car panel passed trial certification


Recently, the 1980mm ultra-wide cold-rolled panel and the 1805mm ultra-wide-width zinc-iron alloyed steel panel developed by Maanshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. have passed the trial certification of domestic automobile OEMs and entered the small-batch supply phase. This indicates that Maanshan Steel has become the second domestic company to have Iron and steel companies that produce ultra-wide cold-rolled and galvanized automotive panels.

The wide-spec cold-rolled and galvanized automobile panels are mainly used for large-size coverings such as car side walls and roof covers. The technology is complex and difficult to develop. It is an embodiment of high-end technology, advanced management, and fine manufacturing. In order to cope with the increasingly fierce market competition, this year, Masteel set up an automotive board propulsion office to accelerate the development of automotive panel products in terms of research and development, production, sales and after-sales service capabilities. It will also develop wide-range cold-rolled and galvanized panels as an automotive panel product. The primary task of developing capabilities, improving management and manufacturing levels is to grasp. For the characteristic requirements of cold-rolled and galvanized wide-width automotive panels, a project research team was set up to formulate detailed process work plans. After six months of continuous technical breakthroughs, the successful production of qualified ultra-wide cold-rolled, galvanized automotive panel test material. In September this year, ultra-wide cold-rolled automotive panels and super-wide zinc-iron alloyed automotive panels were all successfully tested at one time, and the product quality reached the level of domestic advanced steel mills.
