Not long ago, the reporter had the privilege of interviewing Ka Ling's product development manager Zhang Lingfeng who was conducting the final verification of Kaiwei at the Xiangfan National Automobile Experimental Base, and personally experienced Jiangling's demanding quality requirements and excellent Kaiwei quality.

Jiangling took a big step forward

Zhang Linfeng told reporters that the total length of Jiangling light trucks famous for high-end light truck technology has not exceeded 6 meters. The newly-developed Jiangling Kaiwei Zhongka not only has a breakthrough in the load capacity, but also has a longer vehicle length. The past has been greatly extended. With a length of 6.5 meters, the flatbed has reached 8.3 meters, and the length of the outline of the box truck has even reached 9 meters. "The car's maximum cargo space is 33 cubic meters. Kaiwei R & D is cautious

“Kaiwei is the brainchild of several generations of Jiangling, and there is no room for failure.” Zhang Manager said in a profound tone that Kaiwei’s quality requirements and even certain aspects exceeded Jiangling’s original light trucks due to its entry into new markets. “We want to give our customers the impression that Jiangling is not only high-end, high-quality, but also has good quality.” Zhang Linfeng told reporters that from the beginning of the design to the final product four years ago, Jiang Ling Kai Welcom has invested 232 vehicles in the test, and the entire rigorous test mileage [reviewed image] is as high as 2.5 million kilometers. The cost of the trial alone is as high as tens of millions of dollars. All efforts made are all guarantees for Kaiwei's quality. But even so, Kaiwei's listing still dragged on. “Before the official launch of the market, Kaiwei will find some pilot users to try out the vehicles in the local regional market. Three months later, the entire vehicle will have no major problems, and Kaiwei will be put on the market in large quantities. In addition, Kaiwei’s A new car must undergo a 40-kilometer road assessment before leaving the factory to maximize the quality of the manufactured vehicles."

Joint research and development of engine systems

"Of course, we first consider Jiangling's own 4JB engine." For this engine with a good reputation in the customer group, Zhang Linfeng believes that the engine is good, but due to the small displacement of 4JB1, power, torque may not be able to meet the Card requirements, therefore, Jiangling eventually reluctantly cut love, chose to jointly develop with the mainstream engine manufacturers in the country, matching Jiangling Kaiwei.

It should be noted that the current 4D series engine Jiangling Kaiwei carries is the latest 4.7L displacement Euro III engine developed by Chaochai, and it also bears the JMC logo. Using Isuzu 4HK1 engine technology, through the world's leading overhead camshaft design technology, noise can be effectively reduced, and the rear gearbox design can effectively save fuel consumption. Jiangling sent a dedicated R&D and QC team to stay in Chaoyang for a long time. The 4JB1 engine-related key standards were incorporated into the Kaiwei 4D engine. The 4D engine may even become the second “4JB1” on the market.

Kaiwei matched the domestically advanced six-speed six-speed gearbox. After the adjustment of Jiangling technicians, the problems that Kaiwei equipped with this gearbox were obviously fewer than those of other brand trucks. The reason is that Jiangling Trucks has a very strict set of procedures for quality control, and these are all derived from Jiangling's lean management and the improvement of high-end products. At present, Jiangling’s post-sales cost requirement is controlled within six thousandths, while Kaiwei is currently three thousandths. This shows that Jiangling’s product quality is very good. ”

Application of foreign heavy truck chassis technology

When talking about the chassis, the manager Zhang Zhang, who has decades of experience in research and development of automotive chassis, told the reporter that some of the technologies used in the Kaiwei chassis have led the domestic similar products. These technologies are commonly used in the field of heavy trucks in foreign countries, but the domestic similar products are rarely designed. First, the low center of gravity chassis technology, mainly through the optimization of the chassis layout, the center of gravity, in the case of the same ground clearance, the center of gravity is generally 50mm lower than similar domestic models, low center of gravity can greatly improve the vehicle's high-speed heavy performance; Lightweight vehicle technology, through the variable cross-section design of the beam, procurement of high-strength and high-quality steel, Kaiwei vehicle weight reduced 100-200KG, load performance has also been strengthened; Third, the brake pipe part of the use of aerospace metal raw materials, improve air brake The safety performance.
