A few days ago, Shanhaiguan Shipyard completed the delivery of the double-hull oil tanker "Paros Warrior" modified by the Greek shipping company, marking the first successful conversion of the single-hull tanker into a double-hull tanker. The Paros Warrior is 232 meters long and 42 meters wide. It is an Aframax tanker with 17 years of age. The successful modification of the "Paros Warrior" has enabled the mountain boat to have the business strength to undertake the conversion of single-hull tankers into various types of ships.

Shanhaiguan Shipyard has completed the conversion project of VLCC modified large ore ship, oil and gas mixed ship modified double-shell oil tanker, single-shell oil tank modified self-unloading bulk carrier. This time, the single-hull tanker was converted into a double-hull tanker. The steel structure such as bulkhead and inner bottom plate was installed on the basis of the original cabin structure. More than 3,400 tons of steel were used, and a liquid level alarm system was added according to the new specifications. . The entire modification process is carried out completely in the floating state of the ship docked at the dock. In the floating state, the deformation of the hull is particularly important. If the control is weak, the outer shell and deck of the hull will collapse. After the previous engineering investigation and technical preparation, the mountain boat finally selects a scientific and reasonable modification plan and deformation control construction technology through detailed and accurate strength calculation under the premise of ensuring construction safety and ship safety. After four and a half months of modification, the hull strength test was successful once, the deformation control fully met the design requirements, and the safety production achieved zero accident indicators. The shipowner gave a high evaluation of the quality and construction period.

It is understood that in the later stages of the ship's conversion, shipowners from South Korea, Singapore, Greece, Hong Kong and Other places have come to Shanhaiguan Shipyard to visit and inspect, which has aroused great interest in the great success of mountain boats in the field of ship modification. Although the global single-hull tanker will be phased out at the end of 2010, the modification of single-hull ships can save the shipowner cost and time, which has created a new ship modification market. In recent years, the conversion of single-hull tankers into double-hull tankers has gained a large market share, and the single-hull tanker modification orders for mountain boats have been scheduled for 2008. At present, the modification project of the "Golden Gate" of the sister ship "Paros Warrior" is intensifying.
