Tianguan 5,000-ton device to achieve industrial operation

The technology of polymerizing carbon dioxide gas into fully degradable plastic has been successfully industrialized. The reporter saw in Henan Tianguan Group last week that the production of a complete biodegradable plastics production line using carbon dioxide as a raw material has been realized in this group. On the one hand, this process can reduce carbon dioxide emissions. On the other hand, the polymerized green plastic can be completely biodegradable, and can fundamentally eliminate “white pollution”. It is a typical circular economy technology model.
According to Du Fengguang, the chief engineer of Tianguan Group, the 5,000 tons/year fully degradable plastic industrialized production line put into operation is also at the leading level internationally. The device uses a high-activity, high catalytic efficiency catalyst to polymerize the carbon dioxide gas discharged from Tianguan Group during the production of alcohol into a fully degradable plastic-polypropylene carbonate resin.
The use of carbon dioxide to form a fully degradable plastic technology is a hot and difficult issue for the world. At present, most of the plastic products on the market use petroleum as raw material, which not only has a high cost but also is not easily degraded after use, thus seriously polluting the environment. The use of carbon dioxide as raw material for the production of fully degradable plastics can save oil resources while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and is conducive to large-scale promotion of green plastics.
In 1997, Tianguan Group cooperated with Sun Yat-sen University and started the research of carbon dioxide-degradable plastics. At the end of 2003, the group built a 50-ton/year production line and passed the results appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province. In order to speed up its industrialization process, the group completed the current 1,000-ton production line in September 2006. After one-and-a-half years of production tests, it proved that its process is reasonable and it has industrial production capacity.
It is understood that the full degradation of plastic products in the mechanical properties, thermal stability, pressure resistance and other aspects can be comparable to the general plastic products, not only for the low temperature plastic film market, but also developed into disposable lunch boxes, foam packaging materials, children Toys, etc. At present, the price of the whole degradable plastics market is about 30,000 yuan per ton. The demand for this product at home and abroad exceeds 10 million tons per year, and the total production capacity is still less than 10,000 tons. The project has a very good market prospect.
