Application of ASD-B Servo System on Engraving Machine

1 Introduction

In recent years, with the continued development of the national economy, the demand for high-speed engraving machines has grown in hardware and advertising products, and the market demand for the economically developed East China market has reached several thousand units. CNC high-speed engraving machine equipment is the applicable field of servo drive technology products. The CNC engraving machine needs to use three servo motors to control the X, Y, and Z axes to perform high-speed feed. The power range of the selected servo motor is generally between 200W and 1KW, depending on the worktable and the size and weight class of the workpiece. .

2 customer background

The customers of Delta ASD-B servo drive technology used in this project are the leading enterprises in the domestic engraving machine industry. As an internationally renowned company, this customer has very strict requirements on the servo performance of high-speed engraving machines. Customers have been using servo systems from developed countries before, but due to the high prices of imported brands, the price/performance ratio is not ideal, and the burden on production costs has increased. Therefore, they are always looking for domestic brands that meet the standards. When the customer first tested Delta ASD-B servo products, it discovered that Delta ASD-B servos had reached world-class level in terms of technical content and product quality, but the price was very affordable, and the price/performance ratio was very high. Using Delta's ASD-B servo engraving machine, the precision of the surface finish and other processed products are even higher than similar imported brands.

3 system design

3.1 engraving machine system architecture

(1) CNC system: The CNC system developed by the customer has been adopted.

(2) Spindle system: The integrated electric spindle is driven by Delta VFD-M series inverters.

(3) feed drive system: ball screw + elastic coupling + linear guide + Delta ASD-B series servo drive system.

3.2 Analysis of Mechanical and Servo Performance

The rigidity of the non-moving part of the engraving machine is required to be as good as possible, while the rigidity of the moving part is to be flexible. It should be designed to be as light as possible while maintaining a certain rigidity. Mechanical designs usually use extra-wide columns and beams, because the gantry structure has excellent symmetry and excellent rigidity, and it is the preferred structure for high-speed cutting equipment. The difference between the moving part and the CNC milling is that the distance between the guide rail and the guide rail is widened to overcome the problem of bad torque.

The requirement for the servo performance is mainly for the servo motor rotor inertia has strict requirements to ensure that the servo system has a high response frequency. Under the condition that the inertia is satisfied, the servo system is required to have good low speed characteristics and extremely high speed responsiveness.

3.3ASD-B Series Servo System Application Introduction

(1) Characteristics of ASD-B servo system

ASD-B is an AC servo control system for PM servo motors (Figure 3). The ASD-B control loop uses a high-speed digital signal processor (DSP) to perform various motion controls with high-speed accuracy. A variety of motion control modes such as position, speed, torque, and hybrid can be achieved. ASD-B provides a PI/PDFF control architecture with a full range of motion control system features such as automatic gain adjustment and motor auto detection.
