Cargill and Novozymes jointly develop renewable acrylics

Cargill and Novozymes recently announced that they have formed a partnership to jointly develop a process for the production of acrylic acid from renewable raw materials using 3-hydroxypropionic acid (3HPA). The project received US$1.5 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy.
It is reported that the technology will include a fermentation process, mainly using bioengineered microorganisms to convert glucose or other carbohydrates into 3HPA, and then converting 3HPA to chemical derivatives, including acrylic acid.
Novison's biotechnology department official said that with the continuous rise in global oil prices, the production of chemicals from renewable materials as raw materials has become economically viable and has great potential for commercial development.
At present, the 3.1 million tons of acrylic acid produced annually in the world uses propylene oxidation technology, and the market demand for acrylic acid grows at an average annual rate of 4%.

Under normal circumstances, disposable Masks are replaced once every 8 hours, and cannot be reused. Disposable masks are made of more than three layers of 28 g non-woven fabric; the bridge of the nose is made of environmentally-friendly all-plastic strips, without any metal, with breathable, comfortable, especially suitable for electronics factories, daily use. The disposable medical surgical mask can prevent respiratory tract infection to a certain extent. It is made of two layers of non-woven fabric and filter paper. It consists of two layers of fiber non-woven fabric, which is professionally used for medical treatment. More than 99% of the filter bacteria can be filtered by ultrasonic welding.
