Many domestic truck brands have become sensational

Pseudo-proposition 3: Many domestic truck brands face fatal or even abandoned fate.

"A lot of domestic truck brands are at stake" is sensational

Are many truck brands at risk? Do not!

When I read the newspapers and magazines recently, I saw a very "hot" view, saying that the self-owned brands are facing the destiny of being abandoned. Many domestic truck brands, including Yuejin Automobile, are in a state of advancing from marginalization to extinction. Among them.

However, the author believes that although this view is refreshing, it does not dare to agree.

First of all, China's own truck brand is almost universal in the Chinese market. As shown in Figure 1, currently the top 15 heavy truck brands in domestic sales are all self-owned brands; among the top 15 light truck brands in China, only 6.67% are joint venture brands, and the remaining 93.33% are all self-owned brands. In other words, the Chinese truck market is almost entirely dominated by independent brands. Joint venture brands are now small and small in China and have never before become mainstream. New China's truck companies started very early, and presented a positive attitude of "Jiangshan generation of talented people out" and "Yangtze River after waves pushing forward". Many strong independent brands that have been active in the market "front line" include Liberation, Dongfeng, and China National Heavy Duty Truck. , Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck, Beiqi Foton, Chongqing Hongyan, Jianghuai and so on. Although they had introduced foreign advanced technologies (such as Steyr, Isuzu, etc.) in different historical periods, they never lost their dominant rights and income rights to their own brands. The influence of multinational companies on them was limited to technology transfer and technology. Guidance; Even if the joint venture company such as Dongfeng Limited, the foreign influence on it is mainly concentrated in the field of passenger cars, commercial vehicles is still the Chinese side has the final say, the brand is entirely Dongfeng's own brand.

Second, foreign truck brands simply cannot pose a threat to their own brands. Domestic assembled foreign brands produce very little. At present, the domestic truck joint venture brands are only Huawo Trucks, Qingling Trucks and Nanjing Iveco. Huawo is almost closed. Qingling light trucks only have sales of more than 10,000 vehicles. The Nanjing Iveco short head light truck has just started this year (Iveco light passengers also Less than 20,000 vehicles. What about multinational brands and imported products? Similarly, imported cars do not pose challenges to self-owned truck brands. This point has been discussed in detail in the previous article “There Is No Need to Raise Other People’s Efforts to Destroy Your Impossibility”. From Figure 2 we can also see that imported trucks account for too little of the annual sales of domestic trucks, which cannot shake the absolute dominant position of many domestic truck brands.

In addition, some of the old domestic truck brands have lost ground because of the emergence of independent truck brands. For example, the decline of the Yuejin brand and the declining status of the liberated brand are mainly due to the rise and replacement of other truck brands rather than the impact of foreign brands. The "latecomers" like Futian and Jianghuai have developed rapidly over the past decade, weakening the market position of Yuejin's old brands to a large extent; and the sales of four Steyr platforms have increased year by year, which in turn has helped to liberate Dongfeng's market share. Constantly "shrinking". The shift of self-owned brands and the introduction of new models of independent vehicles are a good thing for the development of trucks in China. It shows that the truck industry in China is constantly maturing and progressing.

In this regard, the view that most of the autonomous truck brands are in jeopardy has no basis at all. In contrast, domestic trucks such as CNHTC, Liberation, Foton, and Hualing have made great achievements in the international market, resulting in The multinational companies have retreated in succession and regard Chinese brands such as SINOTRUK (English logo of China National Heavy Duty Truck) as "Flood and beasts". This is the victory of domestic independent brands. These truck companies are the backbone of our national industry.

(Another point was made that once the BAIC Group's resources have been consolidated, Beijing Hyundai and Beijing Benz, two of its joint ventures, are unlikely to tolerate the existence of a self-owned truck brand called Beiqi Foton, which will rely on the rise of agricultural vehicles. Futian will face a crisis of survival. As soon as it is judged to be "passive water," BAIC must become a large-scale integrated automobile group, and it is hard to imagine that there is no commercial vehicle, while the long-term products of Beijing Hyundai and Beijing Benz are passenger cars, and they are good at commercial vehicles. The Beiqi Futian did not have any conflicts, and the three companies each had their own strengths and division of labor, and Fukuda’s current strong position in the commercial vehicle industry has also been laid, and it cannot be said that whoever does not tolerate its “existence” will not really exist. )
